The baby bag is packed for the hospital including some teeny-tiny diapers, onesies, a pink and a blue sleeper and the rest of the gear we'll need. The car seat is ready to go and Katie's seat has been moved to the other side of the car.
Katie is settled in her new room and thankfully we've had no problems getting her to sleep etc. She loves her 'woo woom' (new room) and would go up there a couple times a day just for fun!
The nursery is cleaned and restocked with baby items. I'm working on some bedding and there's still a bit of sorting left to do, but other than that, we're pretty ready!
My bags aren't packed, but it's kind of difficult to pack up your stuff when you need to use it every day! I should get a bag started at least though so I'm somewhat prepared.
We're just playing the waiting game now; thankfully it's going quickly as we're busy with Christmas get togethers and holidays! We'll keep you posted!

I'm at the point where:
- Ben had to help me put my nylons on last Sunday
- I have to get out of bed to turn over
- It takes me usually three tries to pick something off the floor
- After taking Katie upstairs for her nap and coming back down I need to sit for five minutes and rest because I'm out of breath
- I eat two tums and drink half a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda every night before bed to cut down on heartburn. Sometimes I still wake up the night with heartburn and need to repeat.
- I feel like I could go to the bathroom almost all the time; sometimes right after I've been there.
- I have constant pressure and pain in my hips and pelvis thanks to this (TMI I know)
- I can't cross my legs and lean forward to work on the computer.... it's one or the other
But I'm also at the point where....
I'm so ready to meet this wee little baby! Boy or girl? I have no idea!
I bought some flannel for new receiving blankets: blue and pink! Blue because I have no boyish receiving blankets and girl because it was just too cute and(thanks to the 50% members sale) only ended up costing me $1.25 per blanket. And also, new babies just need new things!
I finally got out my box of baby things on Monday. WOW! Looking at those newborn onesies was kind of a shocker! I guess I'm just used to Katie's 24mo size, but those newborn onesies are so teeny-tiny!
I'm hoping to find a cute newborn sleeper (in each persuasion) for a going home outfit: something warm and fuzzy as it'll be chilly!
The rest of the newborn blankets etc went through the wash and they're all nice and clean and folded ready for use!
I'm hoping to sew a new diaper bag at some point. Katie's current diaper bag is a little girly..... I do have a store-bought diaper bag, but I want to make a nicer, new one! We'll see if I get there or not.
Katie should be moving into her new room this weekend; hopefully in plenty of time to get used to it before the baby comes. She isn't doing so great with sleeping in new places, so it may take a while for her to settle in.
Oh and did I mention.... TWO MORE WEEKS!!!

Reading, reading, always reading! The little table and chair set was a gift from our dear neighbour's! It was Wayne's when he was a small boy, just a few years back ;-)
Sitting in Daddy's chair! Hehe!
"Puppy see? Ya? Puppy 'ook!"

We took a trip to Toronto to visit CasaLoma: a castle built by a Canadian business man who had hopes of someday entertaining royalty. It's quite the estate complete with an under-ground tunnel to the stables which lie across a busy road. Here are a few pictures of our day. It was a cold, miserable day and we were glad most of it was spent inside.
The stables and garage. The single, male staff would have slept above.
The Great Hall, and Library. So much wood! The self-guided tour said that each day, while building was taking place, Sir Henry Pellatt would walk over the floor, if there was so much as a tiny squeak, he would make them relay that section of the floor!
Sir Henry and his wife's bed chambers(bottom and right), the formal sitting room(top left) and the hall(top middle).
We climbed, I forget how many, stairs to the top of one of the towers and were rewarded with a decent view of Toronto.

Katie talks. All day. Seriously. All day. In the form of questions. In a really cute high-pitched voice. She needs confirmation for pretty much everything. It goes like this:
Katie: Book? Book? Read it? Ya? book? book?
Me: Yes, that's a book. You can read it.
Katie: Ya? book? Read it? Oookaay! Ya.... read it.Puppy? Puppy read it?
Me: Is puppy going to read too?
Katie: Ya? Puppy? Ookaay!
Sits down an flips through the book for a few minutes.
Katie: All done? Ya? All done book? Ya?
Me: Ya, are you all done?
Katie: Ya! Ookaay! way? Way?
Me: You want to put it away?
Katie: Ya! Oookayy!
And then she takes the book back, and gets another we repeat the process. Almost all of our conversations go like this. Thankfully she is in her playpen for at least two hours every morning and is in bed for at least three hours in the afternoon.
She has a HUGE vocabulary! For my own sake I'm going to write down a summary of things she says and knows so I won't forget as my mind is prone to do.
All her body parts: Head, feet, elbows, knees, toes, bellybutton, fingers, legs, arms, eyes, ears etc.
Fruit and many vegatables: bananas, apples, pears, peaches, oranges, peppers, carrots, beans, broccoli etc.
Aunts and uncles and adoptive aunts and uncles, cousins, kids in the church nursery, grandpas and grandma, opas and omas.
Rooms in the house and furniture: kitchen, couch, chair, den, playpen.
Lots of verbs: eat, walk, say, pray, sit.
She can walk backwards and does so a lot!
She wants "Niiicee cwem" on her bum at almost every diaper change.
She's starting to "flip" when I take her to the nursery at church or leave her anywhere.
She can recognize landmarks and usually knows where we're going: my parents, church, Ben's work, past Jumbo etc.
She can do small tasks like take something and put it in the garbage(a favourite thing to do), bring something to one of us.
She loves blankets and wrapping her stuffed animals and dolls in blankets and putting them to bed. She also "goes to sleep" on the floor frequently throughout the day with blankets.
She will mimick almost anything you say, not always well, but she'll try anyways!
She wants to use her fork and spoon herself.
She knows she's cute and is sometimes a showoff!
She has an amazing imagination(I think): she'll sit sideways on a chair, hold onto one of the back spindles, lean back and say "weeeeee!" pretending it's a swing.
She has a temper and is starting to show it.
She'll get mad at her toys or anything that doesn't go her way and say "No! No! No!" to them.
She usually has a smile for everyone and will wave and say Hi.
She is fighting bedtime with a passion.
She makes me laugh and smile too many times to count throughout the day.
She is such a blessing and we're thankful for every moment we have with her!

having a husband that makes me tea every morning
hearing a little voice 'ChooChoo' her banana pieces into her mouth at breakfast time
feeling wiggles and jabs(however painful) from this 34 week old baby
receiving hugs and pats 'for the baby' from his/her big sister
