Six months

So 25+ weeks pregnant; I've almost hit the six-month mark. Third trimester here we come!  I'm feel great these days and have a good amount of energy. I don't really need to nap in the afternoons anymore, but that will be back on the agenda soon enough. I've realized a few things though:

  • Running up the stairs two at at time doesn't really work so well anymore. I did just it this morning and then thought... hmmm... I think this is coming to an end for a while.

  • I need to be really thankful for the nights I don't get up to make a trip to the bathroom. I think I usually get up 4 out of 7 nights a week: not bad for being six months pregnant.

  • This baby is WAY kickier(is that a word?) than Katie was. Every morning I can lay in bed and watch  my belly move. I'm thinking...... boy?

  • I've started to waddle. Yes, it has begun.  It's not too bad provided I'm not trying to walk quickly. My problem is that I have symphysis pubis disorder. I just found out what it's called; before I just knew that I had pain. I had it with Katie, but not until closer to the end of my pregnancy. This time around it started at four months.  It pretty much hurts all the time, but I've just gotten used to it. It's more annoying than anything else.

  • I didn't just realize this....but I LOVE being pregnant! It's not without it's challenges, but seriously, feeling life moving around inside is so incredible! I seriously missed it after Katie was born and I would have phantom movements.... weird eh?

  • I am way more excited for this baby than I was for Katie. I think I just know how wonderful it is to have a newborn baby and of course with Katie I had no idea what to expect. I'm so looking forward to loving this baby and watching him/her grow!

  • I'm not really nervous for delivery, but every once in a while I get this, "Uhho, no turning back, what have I done?!?!" moment; thankfully they're usually shortlived.

I haven't taken any pictures since the one at 20 weeks; can you say second pregnancy?!?! Ben's brother is getting married next week so I'll try to remember to get one then when I'm all prettied up :P:P

Update

**Edit** I wrote this post at the beginning of September and never got around to finishing it...

I took an unofficial break from blogging this last part summer, with only a few sporatic posts. Many things have happened that are not written anywhere(as my journaling has also suffered) so I plan to cover the summer in point form for my own faulty memory and for the interest of anyone who cares to read.

The main reason for not blogging has been the simple busyness of this household all of August.

I worked 50 hours over three weeks in August as I was filling in for W&D's Admin Assistant while she was on a project trip to Malawi. I do all the book keeping for Word & Deed so I usually work a day a week on that plus other tasks that our Admin Director hands down the line. In August, I didn't touch my work list and spent all my 50 hours with the regular day-to-day operations that Hanna usually does. Phew! It didn't take me long to get back into the swing of things, and I really did enjoy being back.  I have to be honest, my homelife did suffer a bit. I'm happy to say I kept on top of dishes, laundry etc, but poor Katie suffered. Even though she got 80% of the attention she normal receives, she could tell I was busy and preoccupied and rushed. She slept many days at my Mom's and even though that is her home away from home and she knows her bed, toys etc there, it's still not home. She was cranky, clingly, whiny, and top of everything she's still trying to cut her two bottom eye teeth. **Edit** She's got all four eye teeth now and has been a much happier little girl!

We canned

  • 29 jars of salsa

  • 17 jars of tomato sauce

  • 33 jars of peaches

  • 14 jars of peach jam

  • 50 jars of pears (I finished this in Sept)

I picked, tipped and tailed, washed, blanched and bagged 25 bags of beans with some help from Ben. (July & August)

I wrote 30+ worksheets for Sunday school and made 25 copies. I made 60 little memory books for all the Sunday school children, finished the schedule, and planned my music for the year.

I helped organize a baby shower for a young mom in our church and a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law

I had a four doctor appointments (Ultra sound, midwife etc) in the span of one week.

We were gone camping for a week

I spent probably two full days on our All Things Snuggly business: retagging inventory, sorting through finances, sitting at a booth.

I also did the regular things: babysit my nephew and nieces for a day, gone for a few morning coffees, made a meal for someone, laundry, meals, etc.

Now that I look back at everything I've written, I realize I was busyer than I thought. When I started this post I didn't think I'd have a lot to say, but now that it's all written down it looks more impressive :-)

I hope to get back into blogging now that it's September October(almost) to put it into my routine every week!
