We had my family thanksgiving on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend. We've gone camping in the past or at least day camping, but the weather was just too chilly and it was just too complicated with little ones. We all went to my parents and "camped" outside on their deck. We made and ate breakfast outside, played games etc. It was chilly, but fun. For some reason, food tastes better when eaten outside. Can anyone explain that?
Alex was bundled up and cozy!
 The men cooked breakfast. Amazing
 There he is cooking again!

There's a special bond between these two!

mmmm tea!

We played a rousing, hilarious game of pictionary.

We set up my Oma's tent for the kids to play in.
It was a wonderful, fresh day! I don't have any pictures of the rest of the day which was complete with dutchblitz, a walk and a campfire back at our place!

A visit with tante Mim

My tante Miriam was here for a visit at the beginning of October. She came for my cousin's wedding and spent a few days in St. Thomas. She came for coffee one morning and we had a lovely chat and visit!

Jeremy and LoobyLou used to be her dolls and now they live at our house and sit on the shelf in the den. The girls aren't quite big enough to play with them, but they came down for a visit while tante Mim was here.

Family Pictures

My mom gracious took a bunch of family pictures for us this year. It was a quick 10-15 minute session since the mosquitoes were horrendous! Here is one my mom took and a few I tried to take of the kids.

How did I get so blessed to have an amazing husband and three beautiful kiddos? I ask myself that question frequently....

 little posers

Alex would NOT look up. That grass was so fasinating!

 are we done yet, mom?
seriously, we're SO over this picture-taking nonsense.

Being a Mom =

Eating chocolate cake and hiding it when your kids come into the room.

Finding dried snot on your shoulder and not knowing how long it's been there.

Getting a blister from sharpening over 50 of your child's pencil crayons.

Being woken up from an almost-nap on the couch by a wet sneeze.

Spending half an hour picking burrs out of your child's sweater.

Being jealous while putting your six-month old to bed after he's only been awake for an hour.

I tried my hand, err... arm at Arm Knitting today. It's actually very simple, it just looks messy to begin with. You can just search "arm knitting" on youtube and a find a ton of tutorials.

Katie was my model and thought it was pretty hilarious to roll her eyes and spoil the picture. It's prett big on her; it fits much closer/tighter around my neck. I think next ime I'll try it with a thicker yarn too.
